Relive the romance of a bygone era — grandma's bread pans, the gold miner's tools, and books which will transport you to an era where time stood still.
At The Pennefather Complex, two Trading Posts — New Found Out ( clothing shop), and Never Despair (Golden Nuggets)— along with Memory Hold-The-Door, Antiquarian and Second-hand Bookshop, you will find enough to keep you busy for a while, and when the sun goes down, one of our six cottages can provide all you need for a good night’s rest.
Situated next to the old windmill in Rissik Street, Haenertsburg Village, The Pennefather Complex is within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of this picturesque village. The Pennefather Complex is also a perfect starting point from which to explore the surrounding areas of Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof.
Facilities on the premises also include The Haenertsburg Museum, The Smallest Art Gallery in Africa and a cosy Coffee Shop on the stoep (veranda) — adjacent to the book shop.
